The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Elmwood Park and River Grove police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Elmwood Park

DAMAGE

At 1:47 p.m. Jan. 16 a vehicle was reported damaged on 2100 block of 73rd Avenue. Sometime overnight unknown persons spray-painted a line down the side of 2011 Hyundai Tuscon.

At 9:03 a.m. Jan. 18 a car was reported damaged on 2500 block of 75th Court. Sometime overnight the windshield of 2006 Infiniti was smashed by unknown offenders and the tires of the vehicle were slashed.

At 11:50 a.m. Jan. 18 a car was reported damaged on 2200 block of 73rd Avenue. Sometime between Dec. 22 and Jan. 12 unknown offenders damaged the front bumper of the car.

At 5:16 p.m. Jan. 21 a car was reported damaged on 7800 block of North Avenue. Unknown persons put salt in the gas tank of a car and slashed the tires.

At 7:49 p.m. Jan. 21 a home was reported damaged on 2300 block of 73rd Court. Unknown persons cut the cable line that provided cable television to a residence.

THEFT

At 10:43 a.m. Jan. 13 a theft was reported on 7600 block of North Avenue. Two air conditioning units were removed from the rear of a building.

At 12:39 p.m. Jan. 16 a theft from a residence was reported on 7700 block of Westwood Drive. Sometime between July 2011 and Jan. 10 unknown subjects entered an apartment and removed coffee tables, two end tables and a flat screen television.

Hilberto Urias, 30, of 823 W. Morgan St., Elgin, was arrested at 7:17 p.m. Jan. 13 on 7400 block of Grand Avenue and charged with retail theft. He allegedly tried to leave Super Low Foods with two bottles of wine and a can of beer without paying. His court date is Feb. 10.

At 4:34 p.m. Jan. 13 a theft from a car was reported on 7700 block of Sunset Drive. Sometime overnight unknown persons removed the catalytic converter from a green 1998 Toyota 4Runner.

At 2:25 p.m. Jan. 21 a theft from a residence was reported on 2000 block of 75th Court. Unknown persons stole a bed from a home that has been for sale.

At 6:09 p.m. Jan. 21 a theft was reported on 2900 block of 74th Avenue. Sometime between 9:15 a.m. and 5 p.m. Jan. 21 unknown persons stole a black Honda from the front of a residence.

BURGLARY

At 7:13 p.m. Jan. 16 a home was reported being burglarized on Conti Parkway. At 5 p.m. a neighbor saw a man trying to enter the kitchen window of a neighbor’s home with a pry bar. The man fled when the neighbor yelled.

River Grove

DUI

Michal Juriczko, 22, of 4423 N. Grace St., Schiller Park, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. Jan. 22 at Belmont Avenue and Elm Street and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol. His court date is Feb. 28.

David Torres, 38, of 840 W. Vista Drive, Algonquin, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Jan. 21 on 7300 block of Grand Avenue and charged with driving while under the influence alcohol. His court date is Feb. 28.

OBSTRUCTION

Patryk Trynda, 30, of 4423 N. Grace St., Schiller Park, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. Jan. 22 at Belmont Avenue and Elm Street and charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. He allegedly interfered in the arrest of another person.
