The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Elmwood Park and River Grove police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Elmwood Park

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

At 9:05 a.m. Jan. 24 a vehicle was reported damaged on 1600 block of 76th Court. Unknown persons cut the tires of 2002 gray Honda Civic while it was parked in an underground parking lot.

THEFT

At 11:19 a.m. Jan. 24 a car was reported stolen at 78th and Grand Avenue. Sometime between 6:30 a.m. Jan. 21 and 10:30 a.m. Jan. 24 unknown persons took the car from the location.

At 10:47 a.m. Jan. 26 a theft was reported at a residence on 7700 block of Westwood Drove. A diamond ring was stolen, and the victim believes the people he recently hired to move furniture out of his apartment might be responsible.

At 10:30 a.m. Jan. 27 a theft from a car was reported on 7600 block of North Avenue. Unknown person removed all four wheels from a gray Acura 4-door while parked in the street.

At 9:05 p.m. Jan. 29 a theft was reported from a car on 2700 block of 73rd Avenue. Sometime between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 unknown person removed the license plate from a car.

BATTERY

At 8:18 p.m. Jan. 29 a battery was reported on 2000 block of 73rd Court. At around 6 p.m. a 16-year-old male was punched in the face as he locked the rear gate of his residence.

River Grove

DUI

Robert Rasmussen, 59, of 2000 E. Kiowa Lane, Mount Prospect, was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Jan. 26 at Grand Avenue and Thatcher Avenue and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and driving on a suspended license. His court date is April 10.

BATTERY

Rob Plichowski, 45, of 8310 O’Conner Drive was arrested at 12:47 a.m. Jan. 28 on 8300 block of O’Conner Drive and charged with one count of domestic battery. He allegedly pushed, shoved and tried to scratch the victim’s neck. His court date is Feb. 2.

Debra Stump, 48, of 8310 O’Conner Drive, was arrested at 12:47 a.m. Jan. 28 on 8300 block of O’Conner Drive and charged with one count of domestic battery. She allegedly pushed, shoved and tried to scratch the victim’s face. Her court date is Feb. 2.

BURGLARY

Christal Gortva, 27, of 9221 Dominion Blvd., Raleigh, N.C., was arrested at 1:31 a.m. Jan. 28 on 2600 block of Clinton Street and charged with three counts of burglary to a motor vehicle. Gortva along with a 16-year-old male were allegedly seen by witnesses entering at least three cars on 2500 block of Davisson Street. The police were called to the area and the two fled and were later caught by police. Her court date is Feb. 1 and the juvenile was charged and turned over to his parents.
