Leyden Township firefighters put out an early morning house fire on June 17.
Firefighters got a call at 5:02 a.m. that a vacant house at 917 N. Roy in Northlake was on fire.
“We had a single-family dwelling with heavy fire showing from the rear of the building,” Lt. Kevin Nay said.
They took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control, Nay said. About 40 percent of the house was damaged.
The fire originated in a rear addition, but investigators were unable to determine the cause, Nay said.
