Man killed in traffic crash in Franklin Park

A driver was in custody and charges were pending following a traffic crash in Franklin Park early Sunday in which a 41-year-old resident of the northwest suburb was killed.

The crash happened at Mannheim Road and Minneapolis Avenue in Franklin Park, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Killed was Marcil Maris-Quevedo, of the 3000 block of Bright Street in Franklin Park, who was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, according to the medical examiner’s office.

A Franklin Park police sergeant said Sunday that a driver was in custody following the crash, and that charges were pending, but not expected to be announced until Monday.

Franklin Park police continue to investigate the accident and would not provide any other details Sunday.
