Elmwood Park Police Blotter, July 16-23

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Elmwood Park
THEFT
At 11:57 a.m. July 13 a theft was reported on 2800 block of 73rd Avenue. The owner of a 2005 Lexus told police his garage was entered illegally and his car was repossessed.
A 1990 Buick Park Avenue was reported stolen on 7500 block of Grand Avenue between 1 a.m. and 3:35 p.m. July 16.
At 6:17 p.m. July 16 a theft of numerous pieces of jewelry was reported on 2300 block of 74th Court.
At 8:02 a.m. July 17 a theft was reported on the 2900 block of 75th Avenue. Five solar landscape light fixtures were stolen from the front of a home.
At 4:09 p.m. July 19 a theft was reported on the 2800 block of 75th Court. Solar landscaping lights were stolen.
At 3:20 a.m. July 20 theft was reported on 2500 block of Harlem Avenue. A wallet was stolen from a locker at Planet Fitness.
At 6:32 p.m. July 20 a bottle of vodka was stolen from a store on 7700 block of Belmont Avenue.
At 3:58 a.m. July 23 a catalytic converter was reported stolen from a car on 2600 block of Harlem Avenue.
BATTERY
At 12:22 a.m. July 15 a domestic battery was reported on 7500 block of Diversey Avenue.
Michael J. Schmidt, 29, of 1900 N. Narragansett Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 5:24 p.m. July 15 on 7900 block of Metropole Street and charged with battery and disorderly conduct. His court date is Aug. 24.
MARIJUANA
Lamar M. Frazier, 24, of 7032 W. Grand Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 10:34 p.m. July 19 on 2500 block of Harlem Avenue and charged with possesion of a controlled substance.
DUI
Alberto J. Espino, 48, of 2902 72nd Court was arrested at 6:40 a.m. July 15 on 2400 block of Harlem Avenue and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol. His court date is Aug. 24.
Pablo J. Gragales, 37, of 2525 S. Drake Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 3:23 p.m. July 18 on 12 block of Conti Parkway and charged with DUI and no valid driver’s license. His court date is July 25.
Christian A. Roa, 29,of 3750 N. St. Louis Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 5:57 a.m. July 22 on 7300 block of Grand Avenue and charged with DUI. His court date is Aug. 24.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
At 2 p.m. July 16 July 16 motor vehicle was reported damaged on 2600 block of 73rd Court.
At 7:34 a.m. July 17 a window was smashed on a Jeep Liberty on the 2200 block of 77th Court.
At 8:35 a.m. July 18 a brick was thrown through the glass door of a school on 7600 block of Cortland Parkway.
A rock was thrown through the front window of home on 2000 block of 78th Avenue sometime between 10 p.m. July 17 and 6 a.m. July 18.
Between 6:30 p.m. July 20 and and 5:30 a.m. July 21 cement blocks were used to break the front window of a car on 2900 block of 78th Court.
At 10:59 a.m. July 21 of 3100 block of 78th Avenue flower boxes were thrown into a neighbor’s yard.
At 10:02 a.m. July 21 a car was spray-painted on 2800 block of 76th Court.
TRAFFIC
Emmanuel R. Rivera, 30, of 2112 N. Moody Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 4:31 a.m. July 17 on 7800 block of Grand Avenue and charged with driving on a suspended license. His court date is Aug. 24.
BURGLARY
At 1:33 a.m. July 17 a van was reported burglarized on 7700 block of Marywood Avenue.
Franklin Park
THEFT
A 2001 blue Ford Econoline van was reported stolen from J.S. Paluch Company, 3708 River Road, between 10 p.m. July 17 and 9 a.m. the next day.
VANDALISM
A police squad car was reported scratched on the hood and roof on the 9500 block of Belmont Avenue at 6:10 a.m. July 18.
River Grove
DUI
Iris Sterling, 35, of 316 Village Drive, Northlake, was arrested at 2:25 p.m. July 15 on 8700 block of Grand Avenue and charged with DUI. Her court date is Aug. 31.
TRAFFIC
Jose Hernandez, 30, of 807 N. Sixth Ave., Maywood, was arrested at 2:01 a.m. July 21 on 2400 block of First Avenue and charged with driving while license is suspended.
Kinga Bochenek, 31, of 8240 W. OConnor Drive turned herself in to police at 11:58 a.m. July 13 and was charged with driving on a suspended license and fleeing and eluding a police officer. At 8:24 p.m. July 12 Bochenek allegedly ran from police during a traffic stop.
DUI
Felix Ocampo, 19, of 2247 N. 78th Ave., Elmwood Park, was arrested at 12:13 a.m. July 15 on 8000 block of Grand Avenue and charged with DUI and speeding. His court date is Aug. 31.
Tera Konkel, 32, of 8137 OConner Drive was arrested at 10:29 p.m. July 13 on 8100 block of OConner Drive and charged with DUI, hit and run, and no valid insurance. Konkel allegedly struck a vehicle with her car and left the scene. Her court date is Aug. 16.
RETAIL THEFT
Rebecca Barca, 26, of 4932 N. Octavia Ave., Norridge, was arrested at 5:15 p.m. on the 7900 block of Belmont Avenue and charged with retail theft for allegedly stealing three bottles of Jack Daniels. Her court date is Aug. 16.
