Leyden Area Police Blotter, July 30-Aug. 6

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Elmwood Park

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A stone was thrown through a home window at 2:37 a.m. July 31 a home was reported damaged on 2700 block of 75th Court.

A screen window to a garage was cut at 1:53 p.m. July 31 on 1800 block of 73rd Avenue.

At 4:31 p.m. Aug. 2 a vehicle was reported damaged on 30 block of Conti Parkway. .

A black marker was used to write grafitti on three vehicles at 7 a.m. Aug. 5 on the 2400-2700 blocks of Harlem Avenue.

Rocks were thrown at a vacant building breaking three windows at 5:03 p.m. Aug. 5.

A garage door was damaged after someone attempted to pry it open sometime before 2:38 p.m. Aug. 5 on 2900 block of 72nd Court.

BURGLARY

At 4:01 a.m. July 31 a car was was repoted burglarized on 2100 block of 75th Avenue.

At 11:26 a.m. Aug. 1 a car was reported burglarized on 2400 block of 79th Avenue. A blue bag containing hair clippers was stolen.

A cell phone was reported stolen from a car at 3:43 p.m. Aug. 2 on 2500 block of 79th Avenue.

A snowblower was reported stolen from a garage at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 3 on 2900 block of 74th Court.

A generator and weed wacker were reported stolen at 10:58 a.m. Aug. 5 from a garage on the 7900 block of Birchdale Avenue.

THEFT

The catalytic converter was reported stolen from a 2004 Honda at 7:53 a.m. July 31 on the 2200 block of 75th Avenue.

The rear yard gate was reported stolen at 9:17 a.m. Aug. 1 from 2800 block of 77th Avenue.

A person’s state disability credit card and debit card were reported stolen at 9:49 a.m. Aug. 3 on the 7200 block of Fullerton Avenue.

A Ford Fusion was reported stolent at 5:05 p.m. Aug. 5 at Altgeld Avenue and 79th Avenue. Sometime.

BATTERY

Alexander Lagunas, 25, of 8655 W. Grand Ave., River Grove, was arrested at 1:18 a.m. Aug. 2 on 2600 block of 75th Court and charged with domestic battery. His court date is Aug. 9.

At 10:31 p.m. Aug. 2 a domestic battery was reported on 7800 block of Cressett Drive.

River Grove

PROTECTION ORDER

Ricardo M. Gutierrez, 37, of 2435 Hessing St., was arrested at 12:58 a.m. Aug. 5 on 2400 block of Hessing Street and charged with violating an order of protection. His court date is Aug. 9.

LEAVING SCENE

Thomas D. Lovejoy, 45, of 300 Court Road, Plum City, Wis., was arrested at 9:51 a.m. Aug. 5 in Franklin Park and charged with leaving the scene of an accident which occurred at Grand Avenue and Struckman Avenue. His court date is Sept. 11.

Franklin Park

BURGLARY

Someone broke into a 2011 Audi on the 3200 block of George St and stole a passport, compact discs and loose change between 10 and 11 p.m. July 29.

The driver’s side seat cushion, stereo, heating and air control panels and rear view mirror were stolen from a 1997 Mercedes-Benz, SL 500, parked on the 9700 block of Franklin Avenue between July 29 and Aug. 5.

A Magellen GPS unit was reported stolen from a 2010 Toyota on the 10100 block of Grand Avenue at 12:36 p.m. July 30.

THEFT

A pickpocket stole a wallet from a purse at Jewel, 10203 Grand Ave., at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 4. The purse contained $200, expired credit cards and papers.

A wallet was reported stolen from a purse of a shopper at Jewel, 10203 Grand Ave., at 4:32 p.m. Aug. 4. It contained $40, two credit cards and ID.

A truck driver climbed to the roof of his trailer on the 9200 block of Belmont Avenue at 9:55 p.m. Aug. 3. When he got back into his truck cab 30 minutes later, he found his backpack – which contained $2,400, credit cards and driver’s licenses – was missing.

Northlake

DUI

Conrado Andrade, 23, of 166 Lalande, Addison, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, making an improper turn and illegal squealing of tires near Morse and Roberta at 3:25 a.m. July 29. His next court date is Aug. 21.

Pablo Hernandez, 63, 110 N. 23rd Ave., Melrose Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and no proof of insurance near Mannheim and Hirsch at 2:53 a.m. July 30. His next court date is Aug. 21.

VANDALISM

A 1997 white Pontiac on the first block of Dewey was spray-painted black between 11:15 p.m. July 30 and 2:40 a.m. the next day.

ROBBERY

A young man pulled a knife on two women near Roberta and Morse at 1:30 p.m. July 31 and demanded their jewelry. He then ran north with four pieces. Northlake police sent a bulletin about the robbery to neighboring police departments and by the next morning a River Grove officer identified the robber as a 16-year-old in Elmwood Park. The boy was charged with armed robbery and sent to a juvenile detention center.

LEYDEN TOWNSHIP

BURGLARY

A residential burglary on the 2100 block of N. Hawthorne Avenue was reported to the Cook County Sheriff on July 29.

A residential burglary on the 10800 block of Wellington Avenue was reported on July 29.
