River Grove library officials grill contestants in trivia contest

Trivia questions and barbecue combined to bring people out for some friendly competition Saturday.

The River Grove Public Library had its Paws to Read Adult Trivia Contest for adults at noon July 26. The event was part of the library’s celebration of the end of the summer adult reading program.

Anastasia Daskalos, head of circulation at the library, said the event was well received by the public.

“I thought it was awesome,” she said. “We got a lot of people in.”

He said there were about 20 people in attendance that were broken up into five teams. There were three different rounds one covering literature, another covering animals and then one dealing with books.

“There were a few tough ones, but everyone knew the answers,” she said.

To make the event even more festive, participants had lunch brought in from Russell’s Barbecue in Elmwood Park. Teams that won individual rounds also received gift cards to area restaurants.
