1. Mayfair Fest, noon Saturday
Mayfair Fest brings together numerous art vendors, arts and crafts for the kids, inflatables for bouncing, demonstrations, a selection of food trucks for refreshments and a concert by The Congregation. Mayfair Park, 4550 W. Sunnyside Ave., Chicago. Free.
2. Elmhurst Family Kite Festival, 11 a.m. Sunday
Head to the park to fly a kite or check out some of the Midwest’s best professional kite flyers. The event includes stunt, trick and show kite demonstrations, a family-fun fly, candy drop and free kite building for children. Attendees are encouraged to bring a kite to fly during open fly times. Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave., Elmhurst.
3. ZooBrew, 5 p.m. Saturday
The zoo hosts the third annual ZooBrew for everyone 21 and older to enjoy beer and zoo animals. The beer tasting event features more than 60 beers, live music and more. Ticket costs include parking, admission to the zoo all day, 3-ounce beer samples and a commemorative tasting glass. The brewing begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10. 4. Community Camp Out, 6:30 p.m. Saturday
The police departments and Eisenhower Public Library provide family activities with fire trucks, police cars and other cool vehicles. Afterwards, there is a time of storytelling and sing-a-longs. Meet at Field 5. Norridge Park District, 4631 N. Overhill Ave., Norridge. $5.
5. Serb Fest 2014, 5 p.m. Friday
Join the church for three days of fun, food, dancing and Serbian culture. Holy Resurrection Cathedral, 5701 N. Redwood Drive, Chicago. Free.
6. Relay For Life of Norridge/Harwood Heights, 6 p.m. Friday
This year’s event features a survivor ceremony, luminaria ceremony, on site fundraisers including bake sales and raffles, a DJ and other entertainment and activities. Open to the public. Ridgewood High School, 7500 W. Montrose Ave., Norridge. Free.
7. Guided Bicycle Tour, 9:30 a.m. Friday
Explore the historic Oak Park neighborhoods on a guided bicycle tour of 22 structures designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Sites include Wright’s Home and Studio, Unity Temple, Frank Thomas House, Heurtley House, Cheney House, Furbeck House and more. Greenline Wheels, 105 S. Marion St., Oak Park. $30-$35.
8. Cruise Night Car Show and Movie in the Park, 5:30 p.m. Friday
Come out and check out the hot rods and muscle cars before enjoying a movie in the park. The movie begins at dusk. Attendees should bring their own blankets and lawn chairs if they wish. There are no entry fees for the car show, but vehicles must be registered to enter. Westdale Park, 3045 Sandra Ave., Melrose Park. Free.
10. Bill O’Connell’s Chicago Skyliners, 6 p.m. Sunday
The Chicago Skyliners Big Band has been a house band at FitzGerald’s since 1991, and has become one of the top Big Bands in Chicagoland. FitzGerald’s Nightclub, 6615 Roosevelt Road, Berwyn. $5-$10.
