Three free events in three weeks around Elmwood Park

1. Taste of Elmwood Park, noon Aug. 9

The four-day family festival includes food from local restaurants, live entertainment, beer, wine, Bingo, rides and arts and crafts. This weekend, the festival opens at noon Aug. 9 and 10. Central Park, 2430 N. 75th Ave., Elmwood Park

2. All About Animals Workshop, 4 p.m. Aug. 12

Students in kindergarten through sixth grade can learn about animals through experiments with camouflage and ands-on activities. Elmwood Park Public Library, 1 W. Conti Parkway, Elmwood Park.

3. Knitting, Crocheting and Needlepoint Club, 1 p.m. Aug. 19

Learn how to knit, needlepoint and crochet, or work independently on a project. Extra supplies and tips are available. Franklin Park Community Center, 9560 Franklin Ave., Franklin Park.
