There have been a lot of changes at Elmwood Park Public Library, and the library has set aside a day to show them off.
The library, at 1 Conti Parkway, scheduled an open house for Friday Sept. 5 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The highlight of the tour will be the library’s adult section.
Jason Stuhlman, assistant director, said many people don’t know about changes to that section of the library and may need to know what was done.
“We never rearranged the place and want to give everyone a tour,” he said. “There will be some refreshments and there will be some giveaways.”
Sthuhlman said the adult section recently added enclosed meeting rooms and bookshelves have been rearranged to open up the space.
“It’s more open and inviting,” he said. “There are more shelves for the DVDs. There is more area for people to browse and look at the area where books and DVDs were returned.”
The library’s website is currently under construction and will be unveiled a few days prior to the open house.
“The new website will be more bright and colorful and easier to navigate,” he said. “Once it goes up people are going to be happy with it. We’re really excited about that.”
Those who are curious about the new website or may need some help navigating it can stop by during the open house to get help. Stuhlman said a room will be designated where the website will be enlarged from a computer to a bigger screen to show people how the new website works.
“We have some online resources and databases,” he said. “We’ve made some positive changes and we’re happy with the way this has turned out.”
