Whether they were in a relationship or not police say an argument over money and alcohol left one person with a cut shoulder.
Renita Nuehring, 53, of 8024 W. Grand Ave. Apt. Garden North, River Grove, was arrested at 3:53 p.m. Aug. 30 on 8000 block of Grand Avenue and charged with domestic battery. According to police, Nuehring allegedly got into an argument at her residence with a 58 year-old man and as a result cut him on the shoulder with a knife.
Nuehring allegedly called police, and the victim was found to be bleeding from his shoulder. Police said the two were allegedly arguing over alcohol and money and the argument got out of hand and Nuehring cut the victim on his left shoulder, which received six stitches.
Police said the victim has been living with Nuehring for over 20 years, but are not sure of their relationship. According to police, a witness to the incident informed police about what took place and Nuehring, after being questioned, her involvement in the alleged battery was confirmed.
According to police, they have been to the residence on numerous occasions in the past in response to disturbances. Her court date is Sept. 4.
