Arming women for a successful job search

“How to Climb the Ladder of Success in a Skirt” on May 12 is a professional development seminar to help women powerfully launch their careers.

Co-sponsored by the Concordia University Chicago Business College and the Illinois Federation of Women’s Business Clubs/Downtown Chicago, the event will feature workshops and a panel discussion on subjects including résumé writing, networking, salary negotiations, getting the most from executive recruiters and job search strategies.

Presenters will include Wendy Lalli, career coach and a former columnist for the Chicago Tribune, Daily Southtown, and Star newspapers; Barbara Yong, partner in the law firm of Golan & Christie LLP and expert on the gender gap in compensation; Judi Wunderlich, President and co-founder of the Wunderland Group; and Melinda Holm of Melinda Holm and Associates.

The event is open to women and men in the community. The $15 registration fee (free for Concordia students and IFWBC members) includes a continental breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. Space is limited.
