Kids will be bowling between the bookshelves at the third annual Librarypalooza from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the River Forest Public Library,735 Lathrop Ave. The goal of the event is “to bring our patrons into the library after hours for a night of fun,” said Sue Quinn, head of children’s services. The event is held during National Library Week.

Quinn noted that Librarypalooza keeps growing larger. Bowling and playing on giant game boards have been part of the fun since the beginning, as is a community art project in the children’s room.

“This year, we’re making a giant poet tree,” Quinn said. “We’ll have people create their own poems and we’ve got a structure that they’re going to add them to.”

Grownups can sample new electronic devices at a tech petting zoo.

Librarian Hadley Ford will perform Beatles tunes and there will be two magic shows. Ice cream will be served.
