1. “Inherit the Wind,” presented by Oak Park Festival Theatre June 14-July 16 outdoors in Austin Gardens park, located in the 100 block of North Forest Avenue, Oak Park. Inspired by the Scopes “Monkey Trial” of 1925, the play presents a classic courtroom clash between two lawyers who argue the case of a science teacher accused of the crime of teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday; 7 p.m. Sundays; with an additional performance at 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11. 2. Closing reception for “RAW: A Live Exhibition of the Daily Artist” will be held from 2-4 p.m. June 16 at the Oak Park Public Library, 834 Lake St. Artists have recently used the library as a temporary studio, creating works while visible to the public.
