Anime Club: 5-7 p.m. Tuesdays in the basement community room. Check out a variety of animes. Popcorn.
Drop-in Storytimes: (Ages 2-5): 11-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays. Enjoy some of your favorite stories. No registration.
Moms and Tots Lap Sit: (Ages birth-2): 9:30-10 a.m. Wednesdays. Stories, songs and movement for the very young.
Preschool Storytime: (Ages 3-5): 10 a.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays. Stories, songs and activities.
Franklin Park Public Library
Knit & Crochet Group: 1 p.m. June 9. Come on the second Saturday of each month to learn tips for knitting and crocheting or to share projects.
River Grove Public Library

“D-Day Remembered”: 7 p.m. June 7. Free screening of Academy Award-nominated documentary titled “D-Day Remembered.” Suitable for family viewing; followed by a question and answer period facilitated by John Morrissy, 76, an Army veteran A special invitation is extended to World War II veterans, as well as veterans from all periods of service. Free. Register if you plan to attend.
Summer Reading Kickoff: Noon-2 p.m. June 9 at the Recreation Center (across the parking lot from the library). Mini “Taste of River Grove” featuring small bites provided by River Grove businesses such as Zacatecas, Liborio Bakery, Dapp’s, Da Luciano’s and Subway. This year’s theme is “Reading is Delicious!” with programs for kids, teens and adults. Registration is required; register in person at the library or by phone.
Adult Summer Reading: For every book that is read or listened to participants have the option of stopping by the library and having their names entered into a weekly raffle. The library will be raffling off gift certificates donated by its Summer Reading sponsors such as McDonald’s (River Grove), Connie’s Beef, Pop’s Place, Gene & Jude’s and the Triton Hospitality Room.
Used Book Sale: Noon-2 p.m. June 9, Friends of the River Grove Library will be sponsoring a used book sale including kids books.
GED Math Classes: 10 a.m.-noon on Saturdays in June. Free. These classes are designed for those interested in improving their skills for the General Educational Development exam. All materials provided. Register in person or by phone.
Macy’s Museum Passes: Available to adult patrons only. You must have a River Grove Public Library Card.
Wireless Access: Now available. Patrons can bring in their own laptops or use the library’s. You must be at least 14 years old and have a valid photo ID.
