“Magic: The Gathering”: 3:30 p.m. July 16 and July 18. Come out and play. This event is only for those 16 and older.

16+ Gaming: 7 p.m. July 16. Whether you want to play video games, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, D&D or any of the library’s many board games, gamers age 16 and over are welcome to come in for random gaming.

Knit & Crochet Group: 1 p.m. July 14. Come on the second Saturday of each month to learn tips for knitting and crocheting or to share projects.

Quilter’s Circle: 9:30 a.m. July 18 (first and third Wednesday). Quilt in the company of others. Work on a sampler quilt block by block or bring in your own quilting project. Newcomers to the group (and to quilting!) are always welcome.

Teen Programs

Own the Night: CREATE, 3-5 p.m. July 18. Graffiti art of metropolis. Stop by the Square and make cool upcycled stuff.

Teen Advisory Board: Meeting, 6 p.m. July 30. Last Monday. Find out what it does. How to join.

Library Outreach:10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. July 13 at the Stone Park Fire Department. Youth Services staff will be available Friday mornings this summer to provide children’s books for checkout.

Lego Club: 10-11 a.m. July 14. Build something amazing with the library’s Legos. Ages 6-9 meet 10-11 a.m. Ages 10-14 meet 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Anime Club: 6:30-8:30 p.m. July 16. Share your love of anime and manga with others of like mind. Enjoy an anime film screening and other fun stuff, such as making your own manga and playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Ages 12-18.

Preschool Story Time: 10:30-11:10 a.m. July 17. For ages 3-5. Children will enjoy stories, fingerplays and simple crafts.

Kreative Kids: 1:30-3 p.m. July 17. For grades 1-3. Book sharing, stories, activities and crafts. Tuesdays.

Candy Club: 6:30-7:30 p.m. July 17. For grades 1 and up. Create amazing works of art using candy.

Lapsit Stories: 6:30-7 p.m. July 19. For ages 6 months to 2 years with a parent or adult caregiver. Join Ms. Judi for a lapsit program featuring stories, fingerplays, songs and book sharing.

Comix Crew: 1-2 p.m. July 19. For grades 4-8. Love comics and graphic novels? Mix it up by reading one of two book choices each week. Then discuss these awesome reads and enjoy some tasty snacks. On your last day, try making your own comics.

Kids in the Kitchen: 2-3:30 p.m. July 19. For grades 4-8. Won’t be eating chicken nuggets, but you will be preparing delicious and nutritious food that will be easy and fun to make. Thursdays

Summer Story Time: 11 a.m.-noon, Thursdays in July. Story, craft and small snack. Ages 2-4.

“Improving Health Naturally”: 1 p.m. July 14. Ken Bernas, co-owner of Larrabee Herbs, will conducting a free program for adults on improving health naturally. Larrabee Herbs is a vitamin, mineral and health food store at 7628 W. North Ave., in Elmwood Park. Bernas is a certified nutritionist and will be discussing common ailments and natural (herbal and diet) approaches to improving health. He will take questions from attendees. Free, however, registration required in person or by phone (708) 453-4484.

Eat, Move and Read: Noon-2 p.m. July 17-18. 1) mini lesson based on the food group on the week; 2) a craft/cooking lesson; 3) movie time; 4) and 15 minutes of group/individual reading time. Ages 9 and up.

Reading is So Delicious!: 3-4:30 p.m. July 17-18. 1) a mini lesson based on the subject of the day; 2) five minutes of small group reading; 3) a craft with a small snack; 4) 15 minutes of individual reading time. Ages 5-8.
