Film Lover’s Friday: 1:30-3:15 p.m. Aug. 10, “True Romance.” A loose trilogy that includes “Reservoir Dogs” and “Pulp Fiction,” with a crackling Tarantino screenplay that rides a fine line between raucous comedy and violent excess.
Excel Basics: 2 p.m. Aug. 13. Boost your résumé and gain computer experience in this Excel basics course with Rebecca. Will cover basic spreadsheet navigation, formatting and creating simple formulas in this class.
E-mail Class: 7-8 p.m. Aug. 14. Set up an e-mail account to communicate with friends, family and employers in this introductory class.
Wednesday Matinee: “Lockout,” 1:30-4:30 p.m. Aug. 15. Starring: Guy Pearce, Maggie Grace, Vincent Regan, Joseph Gilgun, Lennie James, Peter Stormare. A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president’s daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates.
Book Club for Moms: 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at Sweet & Simple Bakery, 12 W. Conti Parkway. Come join in a discussion of The Irresistible Henry House by Lisa Grunwald. Enjoy a tasty treat while you discuss this fascinating book. Note: You do not have to be a mom to join this book club — all are welcome.
