Pet of the Week for Oct. 4
Annie
Updated: October 11, 2012 3:59PM
OAK PARK
Name: Annie
Species: Canine
Breed: German Shepherd Mix
Color: Tan and Blue
Gender: Female
Age: 2 Years
A shocked community member brought Annie to the Animal Care League after witnessing a man tie Annie to the fence that runs along Interstate 290, where it intersects with Oak Park Avenue. The community member said he was in disbelief as he watched Annie’s former owner get in his car and just drive away. Since arriving at the shelter, Annie has proven herself affectionate and sweet with new people. Once she settles into her stride, Annie is a joy to walk around the block. However, Annie has had no training and her new owner will need to commit to teaching her basic obedience skills, as well as housebreaking her. Annie seems afraid of cats and appears to have limited experience with other dogs. If you are a German shepherd dog lover, it will be worth your time to come to the shelter and meet Annie. You’ll be shocked that someone let a dog this great go. Since Annie is much happier in her foster home, she can be seen at Animal Care League by appointment. Call (708) 848-8155 for more information or to schedule an appointment to visit Annie.
To adopt a featured pet or to learn more, call the Animal Care League at (708) 848-8155, visit the shelter at 1011 Garfield St., Oak Park, or email animalcare@ameritech.net. Available online at animalcareleague.org.
People who love their pets get ID tags for them. It’s the right thing to do and it’s a village law. If you lose a pet or find someone else’s, call Pioneer Press at (847) 998-3400 to put a free, lost or found, ad in classifieds.
