Leyden Township group home plans open house

Updated: March 3, 2012 8:31AM

A new home for people with development disabilities in unincorporated Leyden Township will be holding an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Oak-Leyden Developmental Services purchased the property at 2101 Kirschoff St. in 2010 and fixed it up. The property has been licensed by the state as a Community Integrated Living Arrangement, or group home. It houses six adult men who previously lived in large institutions. A staff member will be at the home whenever the residents are.

Oak-Leyden owns and operates 12 group homes in the suburbs of Chicago, including another one in unincorporated Leyden Township.

For information, call Oak-Leyden at (708) 524-1050.
