A student at East Leyden High School appears to have committed suicide.

An ambulance was called to a house in Rosemont at 8:53 p.m. April 19, said Lt. Keith Kania of the Rosemont Public Safety Department. The 15-year-old student was taken to Lutheran General Hospital. He died on Saturday.

Teachers at East Leyden High School notified students Monday of the death. The school posted a list of counseling services in the community on its website and also notified parents by telephone, Assistant Principal Jason Markey said.
