Sustainable garden
program May 19
The River Grove Public Library will host a program on sustainable gradens at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at the library, 8638 W. Grand Ave.
A staff member from the Trailside Museum in River Forest will be discussing how to grow flowers and expand your garden in a sustainable and eco-friendly way. All participants will receive gardening goodie bags.
This program is free. Register in person at the library or by phone at (708) 453-4484.
EPHS Booster Club
to host 5K Walk/Run
Elmwood Park High School Athletic Booster Club is holding its third annual “Tiger Tear 5K” beginning at 7:30 a.m. with registration and then a 9 a.m. start Sunday, May 20, at EPHS, 8201 W. Fullerton Ave., Elmwood Park.
On the day of the race there will be prizes, T-shirts, a limited number of gift bags (first-come, first-served) and refreshments.
Entry fee: Adults (21 or older) $25/day of race $30. College students $15/day of race $20. Students (18 and under) $10/day of race $15.
Race is on — rain or shine. No refunds will be given.
