A woman filed a $200,000 lawsuit against BP Tuesday, claiming an equipment malfunction during a fill-up in Oak Park left her soaked in gasoline.

Vicke Teague filed the personal injury suit Tuesday in Cook County Court against BP and the owners of the gas station, at 6119 W. North Ave. in Oak Park.

She was filling up her vehicle on June 6, 2011, when a nozzle or hose malfunctioned, and sprayed gasoline all over her face and head, the suit claims.

The four-count suit calls the equipment “unreasonably dangerous,” and accuses BP of negligence. It claims more than $200,000 in damages.

A BP spokesperson had no immediate information on the incident, and did not comment on the suit Tuesday evening.
