Aging Well Community Action Teams: are composed of volunteers who work together to address needs of older adults in their communities. For information on how you can participate on a team call (708) 354-1323, Ext. 19.
Animal Care League: Volunteer Program. Family Team/Green Team. For families with children age 10-16. Parents need to be with and interacting with their children at all times. Come to the shelter at 1011 Garfield St., Oak Park, in person and fill out an application. There is a $25 volunteer training fee. Sign up for volunteer orientation. RSVP: (Retired Seniors Volunteer Program) meets in Room R-221, of the Robert Collins Center on Triton’s main campus, 2000 Fifth Ave., in River Grove. RSVP is a volunteer program for individuals who are 55 and older who want to make a difference in their communities. Many volunteer opportunities: literacy organizations, educational institutions, hospitals, senior centers and faith-based organizations; serve as exercise and aquatic program leaders, resale shop clerks, economic tax counselors, data entry clerks, mentors, clerical and more. Seguin Seeks Older Adults: Make a difference in your community. Seguin Services is seeking adult volunteers, age 55 or older for a volunteer program in which young people with disabilities partner with older adult mentors. Volunteers will mentor the young adults as they volunteer together at area soup kitchens, animal shelters, for environmental causes, with foster children, in nursing homes or hospitals, with homebound older adults and more. The Frank Lloyd Wright: Preservation Trust is seeking volunteers to assist at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park; Wright’s Robie House, in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood; and The Rookery Building in Chicago’s Loop.
