Leyden-area Police Blotter, June 25-July 2

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Elmwood Park, Franklin Park, Northlake and River Grove police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Elmwood Park

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

At 11:15 a.m. June 25 trees were damaged in the 2700 block of 75th Court. Unknown persons broke the limbs of the tree on the person’s property.

At 1:12 p.m. June 26 a vehicle was damaged on 2900 block of 74th Avenue. Sometime between 11:30 p.m. June 25 and 9 a.m. June 26 unknown persons shattered the windshield of a blue/black 2003 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck.

At 9:09 p.m. June 27 a vehicle was egged on 2400 block of 76th Court. Sometime between 11 p.m. June 26 and 6 p.m. June 27 unknown persons threw eggs at the car damaging the paint.

THEFT

At 5:34 a.m. June 26 a car that was previously stolen from 2600 block of 72nd Court and was found in Chicago by local police and was later taken again eight days ago. The car is 1999 gold GMC Jimmy.

At 8:15 p.m. June 26 a camera was taken from a residence on 7700 block of Elmgrove Drive.

At 9:34 p.m. June 2 four lockers were broken into at Planet Fitnes on 2500 block of Harlem Avenue. At total of $440, a cell phone and a wallet was taken.

At 1:17 p.m. June 28 a theft was reported on 7800 block of Belmont Avenue. A resident claimed his roommate stole three bottles of his prescription medicine.

BATTERY

At 5:03 p.m. June 28 two girls were throwing punches against each other on 2900 block of 78th Avenue.

Franklin Park

ALCOHOL

Glenn M. Wojda, 23, of 10141 Chestnut, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 11:16 p.m. July 1 near the intersection of Grand and Atlantic. His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 7.

Veronica Valladolid, 24, of 1921 Welwyn, Des Plaines, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 3:25 a.m. June 30. Her next court date is Aug. 9.

Kelly M. Jackson, 18, of 181 Westward Ho Drive, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on the 10400 block of W. Grand Avenue at 9:35 p.m. June 28. His next court date is July 12.

THEFT

An unknown amount of quarters were reported stolen from a dryer on the 10500 block of Crown Road at 6:23 p.m. July 1. The coin box was forced open.

“Stamping blades” used in metal manufacturing were reported stolen from an unlocked car on the 3000 block of Bright Street at 2:30 p.m. June 28. The blades were valued at $2,000.

A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked car on the 2500 block of Rose Street at 10:15 p.m. June 26. ID, credit card and $30 were taken.

Items were stolen from a purse at Rio Valley Market, 2745 Mannheim Road, at 4 p.m. June 21. A driver’s license and credit card were missing.

Someone tried to break into a garage on the 2800 block of Edgington between 6 and 11:30 a.m. June 21.

BURGLARY

A 1994 GMC Safari on the 9500 block of Schiller Boulevard was reported burglarized at 8:20 p.m. June 27. Ten compact disks, two pairs of shoes and the car title were stolen. There was no sign of forced entry.

River Grove

BATTERY

Angelo Caldarulo, 28, of 7933 Westwood Drive, Elmwood Park, was arrested at 5:19 a.m. June 30 on 8100 block of O’Conner Drive and charged with domestic battery. His court date is July 5.

Debra Stump, 49, of 8310 O’Conner Drive was arrested at 3:25 a.m. July 1 on 8300 block of O’Conner Drive and charged with battery to a police officer, resisting arrest and filing a false report. Her court date is July 19.

DUI

Talia Murgula, 24, of 3834 W. Plainfield Ave., Chicago, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. June 30 on 2900 block Thatcher Avenue and charged with driving while under the influence, expired registration, no valid drivers license and no insurance. Her court date is July 19.

Northlake

THEFT

Change totaling $4 and keys were taken from an unlocked 2005 Volkswagen on the 200 block of Bernice between 10:30 p.m. June 17 and 8 a.m. the next day.
