Library Friends
meeting April 21
The Friends of the River Grove Public Library are looking for volunteer library lovers to assist with summer programs, the book sale and more. The purpose of a Friends group is to enhance and improve the library and library services for the benefit of its users of all ages. If you would like to help the library expand its programming, materials and services for youth and adults, come to the Friends meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at the library, 8638 W. Grand Ave.
All River Grove Public Library users, regardless of residence, are invited to attend. No registration necessary.

fund-raiser May 4
The Oak Park Tennis Center, 544 N. Harlem Ave., in River Forest, invites you to celebrate Cinco de Mayo from 7 to 11 p.m., Friday, May 4, at The Carleton of Oak Park, 1110 Pleasant St., Oak Park. This annual fund-raiser includes beer and wine from 7 to 9 p.m., cash bar after 9 p.m., buffet dinner, silent auction and live music. The cost is $75 per person or $750 for a table for 10. Proceeds raised by this event will fund the recently installed clay courts.

The Oak Park Tennis Center is a self-funded, volunteer organization founded in 1924 in partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County providing the only fully public clay courts in Cook County and nearby communities offering season passes and hourly pay-per-use fees. The OPTC is located at the corner of Lake Street and Harlem Avenue in Cummings Park in River Forest, offering nine new HAR-TRU® clay courts, and open daily from May 15 through Oct. 1.
