First semester
honor roll told

The following students of Elmwood Park and River Grove were named to the first and second honor roll for the first semester of the 2012-2013 academic year at St. Patrick High School, 5900 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago.

First Honors

Freshman – Joseph Dempsey; Sophomores – Anthony Bosco and Sean Anderson; Juniors – Ian Lowe, Nathan Handwerker and Paul Samatas; Senior – Li “Leon” Zhou;

Second Honors

Freshmen – Carlos Figueroa, Jacob Sadah, Jason Nowak, Kevin Gayer and Robert Amon; juniors – Christopher Virruso III, John Sabella and Tristan Casillas; seniors – Killian Dempsey, Oliver Anderson and Peter Siwik; and sophomore Joseph Gurnig, of River Grove.

Students selected
by West Suburban
Artists Guild

Mat Zuska, a junior at West Leyden, Franklin Park, and Igor Ferenc, a junior at East Leyden, Northlake, were recently notified that each had been selected to receive an art scholarship from the West Suburban Artists Guild.

Their artwork was selected from those entered in the Triton College High School Art Competition. Each received a certificate of recognition and a gift certificate from Blick Art Materials at Triton’s artists’ reception on Feb. 13.

Mat Zuska was recognized for his mixed media piece, “Shark,” as was Igor for his sculpture, “Turtle.” ~.
