Thanks for your  support in judicial race

Updated: September 5, 2012 1:35PM

Congratulations to Lisa Marino, the new Circuit Court judge from the 11th subcircuit, Urso vacancy. I know you all join me in wishing the best for her and for our justice system.

With your help I won 36 of the 38 Oak Park precincts, but that wasn’t enough to carry me in the rest of the subcircuit. While the election did not turn out as we had hoped, I am proud of our campaign and immensely grateful to my supporters. It was truly a grassroots effort. You gathered signatures, emailed your friends, wrote checks, planned and attended events, knocked on doors in the cold and in the heat. The best part of the campaign for me has been reconnecting with old friends and meeting so many new friends. Thank you.

You did it not just for me but because you care about our community. In an election with record low turnout, you turned out. You were not content to sit back and let others make decisions for you. Because of that, we all win.

So now I’m refocusing my attention on my law practice. I’ll continue to be involved in community projects and causes, so I’m sure I’ll see you around. I look forward to our next adventure, whatever that might be.
