Oak Park resident Leslie Atwood was judged to have the best pie out of the 14 entries when the Oak Park Arms Retirement Community held a bake off at the fall open house Oct 15.

Only homemade pies were considered and judged based on taste and presentation, by Chief of Police Rick Tanksley; Battalion Chief Kevin Wiley; Village Clerk Teresa Powell; Miss Cook County 2011, April Strong; Oak Park Arms Queen 2011 Ruth Palmer; Oak Park Arms King 2008 John Heflin.

Atwood was awarded $100 of first prize, with a second prize of $50 going to Oak Park resident Margaret Budz, and the third prize, a $25 award went to Jim Flanagan of River Forest.
