June Kaililani Tanoue, a master teacher of hula, called a Kumu Hula, will be teaching her monthly hula class at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 20 at Halau i Ka Pono: The Hula School of Chicago. T

The class will be held at the new location at 38 Lake St. in Oak Park.

The first hour focuses on basic feet and hands then moves on to learn a new modern hula. The third hour work on a new Kahiko, an ancient Hula. The first two hours of the workshop are perfect for beginners and intermediate hula dancers wanting to improve technique.
