District 212 East FBLA compete at state conference Members of the Future Business Leaders of America club at East Leyden High School attended the 64th Illinois Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference held April 12-14, at the Crown Plaza Convention Center in Springfield. The two-day state conference included activities in personal development, business and leadership training, election of 2013-2014 state officers and competitive events. Results for the East Leyden High School members are: Jesse Fuentes – First place in Desktop Application Programming, national qualifier; Karolina Moniuszko and Pablo Ramirez – First place in Business Presentation, national qualifier; Anthony Diminuco, Cody O’Neal and Jimmy Wade – First place in Computer Game and Simulation Programming, national qualifiers; Bartosz Miskowiec – Second place in Help Desk, national qualifier; Piotr Galusza – Second place in Business Math, national qualifier; Avani Shah – Fifth place in Word Processing I. Avani Shah and Maja Bulka served as voting delegates at the conference in the election of the Illinois FBLA State Officers. Students of Italian take nat’l exam Students studying the Italian language took part in the American Association of Teachers of Italian National High School Contest in early March. RIVER GROVE — Last week at Triton College the pressure of studying for final exams took its toll on some students, but luckily there was relief close by. It’s called the Relaxation Station and was set up last week in the college’s Student Center.
